Competitive rates

During the winter season (15 November to 31 March) our hire cars in Switzerland come with tyres that are suitable for winter conditions. The fee for this is already included in the rental fee (conditions for business customers may differ). Outside of the winter season you can add these tyres to your booking for a fee of CHF 9.72 per day (max CHF 97.20 per rental).

Snow chains can be booked for CHF 25 per rental and ski racks are available for CHF 58 in Switzerland.

Prices and products available may differ between countries and not all Avis products are available at every hire station. When you book you'll be shown exactly what's available at your pick up location. At premium locations like airports or train stations a surcharge applies (in Switzerland 20% of the rental price). You will be shown the exact amount in the booking process.

Snow tyres

Winter tyres are necessary in many countries across the region and required by law during certain times of the year. In some places, these tyres are fitted free of charge, others may charge a fee.

Snow chains

Snow chains, required by law through the winter in certain regions, are available to rent at many car hire locations. They can be reserved during the booking process but the option to book is only available at participating branches. Prices vary between countries.

Ski racks

Hitting the slopes? A ski rack might prove useful. Available at selected Avis branches, racks can be reserved during the booking process but the option to book is only available at participating branches. Snowboards can also be fitted to our magnetic ski racks. Prices vary between countries.
