Playa de las Américas is great if you’re looking to party. Verónicas is a stretch of bars, clubs, shops, restaurants and live music venues that comes alive at night. The area is also great for golf lovers. Golf Las Américas is a challenging 18 hole golf course with amazing views. Golf del Sur is another top golfing resort with an impressive 27 hole course.
Puerto de la Cruz is a busy and vibrant resort with a very pretty Old Town boasting boutiques, cafes and restaurants. The Loro Parque animal adventure park is a perfect for family day out. There are over 300 species of animals and you’ll get to see dolphin and orca performance, an area created to look like Antartica (Planet Penguin), and exotic birds flying overhead. Lago Martiánez is a water park and great on a hot day.
Los Cristianos offers stunning beaches and a busy harbour where you can go for fishing and diving trips, and catch boats to other islands. It’s a great place for shopping, you’ll find unique boutiques and lots of cafes where you can rest before more shopping.
La Laguna (San Cristóbal de La Laguna) is known as the religious capital of Tenerife. Check out Catedral de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios (La Laguna Cathedral), which has been recently restored and Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Concepción (Church of Our Lady of Conception), which boasts an impressive carved wooden ceiling and a grand clock tower.
Parque Nacional de las Cañadas del Teide (Teide National Park) has an enormous volcanic crater where you'll find Mount Teide, a volcano and the highest peak in the whole of Spain. You can grab a cable car up to the highest point and then with a pre-arranged permit, hike up to the mouth of the volcano. You’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views.
One of the most scenic Tenerife drives is the route from La Laguna to El Portillo. This beautiful, snaking road offers views of both sides of the island. The winding track passes through the La Tarta rock formation, an incredible geological wonder.

Child safety / Seatbelt laws
- It is compulsory for the driver and all passengers to wear a seatbelt
- Children aged under 12 and less than 135cm tall must be seated in an appropriate child restraint for their size
- Children aged under 12 are not allowed to sit in the front seat
