Most visitors to Kiel take the 30-minute drive via the B502 to visit the imposing Laboe Naval Memorial. Work began on the structure in 1927 and was completed in 1936. The memorial includes a 72-metre-high tower with observation deck, a hall of remembrance and German submarine from World War II.
Rosensee
Just a short 25-minute drive from Kiel, via the B76, is the Rosensee lake situated in the Holstein Switzerland region of Schleswig-Holstein. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxing picnic or visitors can take advantage of numerous hiking trails in the area.
Hamburg
Drive for just under an hour and 30 minutes from Kiel via the A7 or A21 to reach Hamburg.
